1. Who we are
FindDevs Pty Ltd (ABN to be registered, "FindDevs", "we", "us", "our") operates https://finddevs.com.au, Australia's developer quote comparison network. We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. What information we collect
We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary to provide our service. The categories of personal information we collect include:
2.1 Information you give us directly
- Contact details: name, email address, phone number (optional), business name (optional).
- Project brief: a description of the project you'd like quoted, including budget range, timeline, scope and preferred technologies.
- Communications: messages you send us via email, our quote form, or any future contact channel.
2.2 Information we collect automatically
- Technical data, IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referrer URL.
- Usage data: pages viewed, time on site, services browsed, anonymised interaction events.

2.3 Information from third parties
If a developer in our network provides feedback about a project you submitted, we may receive limited details (e.g. whether they responded with a quote). We do not receive any other third-party data about you.
3. How we use your information
We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:
- To match your project brief with three suitable Australian developers in our network.
- To pass your project brief (with the contact details you've provided) to those matched developers so they can prepare a quote.
- To respond to questions, support requests and feedback you send us.
- To send you transactional emails about your specific quote request (e.g. "your quotes are ready").
- To improve the quality of our service through aggregated, anonymised analytics.
- To detect, prevent and respond to fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
- To comply with our legal obligations under Australian law.
We will never use your information for purposes you would not reasonably expect. If we ever want to use it for an unrelated purpose, we'll ask first.
4. When and with whom we share your information
We share your personal information only in the following limited circumstances:
4.1 With matched developers
When you submit a brief, we share it with up to three vetted Australian developers we believe are a good fit. Each developer is bound by a confidentiality agreement with FindDevs that restricts how they may use your information. We do not allow them to add you to marketing lists or contact you about anything other than your specific brief.
4.2 With trusted service providers
We use a small number of third-party services to operate FindDevs. These include hosting, transactional email delivery, error monitoring and (in future) payment processing. These providers only access the minimum data they need and are contractually required to protect it.
4.3 Where required by law
We will disclose your information when compelled to do so by a valid Australian court order, subpoena, or other legal process. If permitted, we will notify you first.
4.4 Business transfers
If FindDevs is ever acquired, merged with another company, or restructured, your personal information may be transferred to the new owner, but only on the same terms as this policy.
What we never do: we never sell your personal information, swap it with other companies, or use it to target you with unrelated advertising.
5. Where we store your information
FindDevs is built and operated in Australia. We host our website and store our primary databases on Australian servers wherever possible. Some of our service providers (such as transactional email senders) operate from data centres in the United States or European Union, when that's the case, we ensure they apply protections at least equivalent to the Australian Privacy Principles.
By submitting your information through FindDevs, you consent to it being processed in these locations.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it. Specifically:
- Quote submissions: retained for 24 months from submission, then de-identified or deleted.
- Email correspondence: retained for 36 months from your last interaction, unless you ask for earlier deletion.
- Aggregated analytics: kept indefinitely in non-identifiable form.
- Records we are legally required to keep (e.g. tax records): retained for the period required by law (typically 5–7 years).
7. How we protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include:
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit between your browser and our servers.
- Encryption at rest for sensitive fields in our databases.
- Strict access controls, only staff and contractors who need to see your data can.
- CSRF protection on all submission forms.
- Regular security reviews and patching of our hosting environment.
- Hosting on infrastructure that meets ISO 27001 / SOC 2 standards.
No system is perfectly secure. If we ever experience a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
8. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct any information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading.
- Delete your personal information (subject to legal retention requirements).
- Withdraw consent for us to use your information at any time.
- Make a complaint if you think we've mishandled your information.

9. Children
FindDevs is not directed at, marketed to, or designed for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Cookies and tracking

11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or the law. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we'll notify you by email (if we have one for you) at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
12. Complaints
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles or otherwise mishandled your information, please contact us first at hello@finddevs.com.au. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 business days and resolve them within 30 days.
